If you are planning on seeing movies anytime soon, I'd recommend Davinci Code, Xmen 3, and Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter. All three are very good, well, assuming you dont have a stick up your ass about blasphemy and such.
Of which, I really dont understand the people protesting Davinci code. If Dan Brown and the people who did the movie said that Jesus really did marry Mary, then ok, I could see some issues being raised since that does contradict things a bit in the bible. Way I look at it is, its fiction, the author says its fiction and has made no claims that it was what happened. Why should people get pissy over something that's made up, when the people involved say right up fron that its fake? Even if Jesus and Mary did get it on, does that cancel out the miracles attribute to him, and his teachings? No, it doesnt. Also, who's to say that the bible was 100% accurate, since it was written mostly long after his death, and wasnt compiled in the form we know it as for the new testiment untill 400 years afte he died. With things being done that far off, things could be distorted by people adjusting with their personal view points in mind. Hell, even if the distortion was unintentional, word of mouth always drops details or alters things. I wouldnt be surprised if the changes were intentional, due to things like the 500-600AD smear campaign of Mary Magdalene by the Vatican, where they purposely tweaked things to make it seem like she was a whore.
Basically, don't be anal, if you dont like something, just avoid it. Don't go around raising a bitch fest.
ARGH! What is so damn difficult about my name?! Its Hellmark, with an e, NOT FUCKING HALLMARK! That happens all the time. Are people too stupid to notice the difference? Damn twatlets.
Also, my brother's roommate, skipped out owing quite a bit utilites and rent, and is now threatening to sue my brother! WHAT IS WITH STUPID PEOPLE!! Why can't we cull them…
Every now and again you hear stories of people trying to screw others, and the wronged, using the power of the internet, get revenge. A few months ago there was a similar situation involving truck parts (Charlie Wenzel), the infamous p-p-p-powerbook!, etc.
The latest in this line is where someone stole a cellphone, and refused to return it. Right afterwards, one of the first things the wronged (or rather her friend), was setup a webpage and made sure the link makes the rounds. Viral marketing at its best takes over, and before long thousands of people are reading and following along. People have located and are staking out the thief, tons of harassment, etc. Its hilarious to me to see how quickly it spread, and the levels its escalated to. Hell, the guy has made 2 forums crash, and in less than a day used 5 gigs of bandwidth for a simple page. Just wild…
Its been crazy here. Yesterday, after rain, the carshow my club puts on was cancelled, despite the rain or shine status of the show. Was kinda sucky, since lots of people were upset, because like an hour later the weather cleared up for the rest of the day. I was around the outlet mall till later on, and kept had people asking why the show wasn't going on.
Leaving the outlet mall, went and saw Cars. Great movie, which had tons of detail. You can definitely tell that its done by people who truely love cars, due to the immense amount of small things that most non-car people would never know of, let alone think to include. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it greatly. Also, make sure you watch the credits, and stay for the scene following them.
Last night, saw the original Dr Dolittle, and promptly fell asleep following that. Woke up around 5am, still at the computer. Start to put things away, to notice that my glasses were knocked off and the frames were bent up. Spent the next half hour getting the frames back in shape, before heading back to bed. Then spent all day with a headache and hurting eyes because apparently I didnt get things 100% back, and so my eyes were adjusting to the glasses again. Top that with the spider bite and possible broken finger I both recieved in my sleep this weekend, and I just felt like crap.
Working on a painting, threw up the really rough part I have so far. Not alot, but hope to work on it more this week.
A few different things have happened in the last week or so since I last posted.
The girl who was in possession of the stolen cellphone I mentioned earlier, was arrested and the rightful owner got the phone back. Yay! Finally, something good happens and crooks weren't let free.
Louisana Governor signed a bill into law, prohibiting minors from buying rated M games (which in a way I have no problems with), but also had some verbage that would basically let a judge decide if something was too racy or inappropriate, and then have the game pulled from the shelves. That part is what pisses me off, especially when you concider how one sided the arguement some of the anti game lawyers (namely Jack Thompson) shows things and how uninformed the judges and legislators are. I was listening to LAGER and they were talking about Postal 2, and commenting on how its one of the most violent and bad games ever, however nearly everything bad in the game is the result of the person playing the game. Yes, you can shove a gun barrel up a cat's ass, shoot some muslims, and piss on their corpses on the way to get milk at the store, or you can just walk calmly to the store and get the milk and walk back. Most of the games that Thompson and his lackeys hate are of that nature. Just because something is possible in a game doesnt mean you need to do it, or that its required, however most of the government types won't see or understand that. Right now the ESA and other groups are contesting it, and a judge is trying to get it stricken down.
I've also been on a fairly big Doctor Who kick. Started watching some episodes of the new series, and its pretty good. Definitely diggin' it. Sucked up quite a bit of bandwidth getting the episodes though. If you can see the new Who, I recommend it.
Also, have been getting ebooks through stuff like Project Gutenberg, which is cool. Free books is always a good thing. Next up gonna see about a good ebook reader for my PDA, since I am accumulating quite a library now. Between my manuals, blueprints, books, etc I have like 3 gigs of stuff to read over.
The cars around here have been shooting craps right and left, which hasn't been pleasant. Right now, out of all the cars, only the cougar and suburban are running properly. Not good.
You know how sometimes, you think of really wild and crazy things? Today, I came up with Vaginoids, which is basically a Voltron style show, with some humor, and instead of lions, the ships are shaped like sex toys (primarily, an atomically correct female torso). Oh well, atleast I didn't make a Bat-strapon this time. I might try and do a small flash animation and put it up.
Speaking of such, ebaumsworld (no, I wont link to the fuckers), ripped off more shit from Albino Black Sheep. This time around, it is the animator vs animation flash cartoon. The creator specifically said he didn't want ebaums to post it, and then tried to include preventative measures to make sure that didn't happen, but ebaums decompiled it, removed some of the credits the cartoon had (to ABS), added in an ad (that they, and not the creator, get paid for when someone clicks), and mucked with the prevention code. What a giant jackass, in a way makes it disheartening, and drains the will to create things, out of fear people will steal it. And those familiar with ebaums, probably know that these tactics are common for them, as they steal other's work quite frequently, plus steal bandwidth and aid Denial of Service attacks on the competition. Makes me sick.
Well, thats all for now.
