Dunno why, but lately I've been in a kick where I want to make a robot. I figure, make one using a 486, running Linux and controlled remotely via SSH or something, and using any other spare parts I can find or make. Dunno what I want to do yet. If anyone has ideas, let me know. I was thinking about making either a head that is sorta like Johnny 5's, with my webcam in it, and load it with a speaker and led's and light sensors, then have it able to turn its head on its own (to follow what its looking at), and speak using festival, or a robotic arm. Since i am not gonna run X or anything like that, the 486 should be fine.
also, made a uptime image
Well, fuck a duck, I hate taxes. Been a big pain in the ass today, since I dont have my last years statement handy (its in a box, somewhere, lost track of it in the move). Luckily I got most of it taken care of now
Just read this interesting little bit – http://www.drunkenblog.com/drunkenblog-archives/000501.html
While, I know blogs are editorials and dont always hold alot of stock in them (ironic, eh?) but alot of valid points are brought up, and stuff that can be proven too. Hope these whistledicks get their asses kicked.
Today was kinda interesting. Woke up around 6, fell asleep with my glasses on and my laptop next to me in bed (lucky I didnt break either). After a bit, my brother calls me on my cellphone (why I dunno, since he was home), and says "you're coming with me to the junkyard". I dunno why he wanted me, cant do much with a bum arm, and I was planning on talking to some friends and cleaning up today. Head out to speedway over in Illinois, which was kind of a disappointment since they've really gone down hill. Their classics section is next to nothing now. Didnt really get anything there. Next headed over to Riverside, the car my brother was gonna get parts from wasnt there anymore, but they had another one that matched. Pulled a spoiler, and a door off of it and some sheetmetal. Was a bitch getting the sheetmetal off since the battery died for the cutoffwheel, and had to do most of it by hand, using what we found discarded. Using a hammer, a big giant chisel, and a seriously dead sawzall blade we managed to get it cut off. Went back home, found out that I can't go to the group dinner that every was going to tonight because the show they are seeing is restricted to 21+, so I am here, home alone and bored stiff.
Been looking a bit at robotics. Wanting to make a simple robotic arm or something using this 486 I have.
